About the Author
HARRY CARSON's 13 years with the New York Football Giants is one of the longest tenures in club history. The indestructible former linebacker served as Team Captain for 10 of his 13 seasons including the 1986 season, when the team won the Superbowl. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2006. He lives in New Jersey.

A courageous story by a great man

It is amazing to read a book like this about football, written by a true football legend. It tells the story of Carson's life, growing up in a loving and sacrificing family, as part of a true, connected community, to his becoming a man who demanded and delivered his best, as a professional, team and community leader, and as a father and husband. Carson also delivers an unselfish and noble message about the potential physical costs of playing the great game of football, is also a sacrifice, in that it must be an uncomfortable truth for him to share, and for us all to hear. I thank Mr. Carson for being the man that he is, and for continuing to deliver his best by telling his real story, and sharing the stories of certain other great men who may not have the voice or platform to do so. Harry Carson is a true modern American and sports hero.

A lesson in leadership and strength...and Football, too!

Harry's story illuminates how winners in life think, learn and grow. He writes like he played: forthright, honest, direct, and hard hitting. If you liked Harry as a player, you will love him as a writer. A must read for everyone in the family!

Thought I was in the game

This book is very well written and flows very well. Unlike so many other former NFL players who write books Carson is very honest about the game not that others are not but this book is one that tells it like it is from playing with injuries to contract disputes conflicts with owners being selected to the hall of fame and coping with his injuries sustained during football. Having played high school and college football it brings out that 1000 people play high school football 100 make it in college 10 make it to the professional level and 1 actually makes the team and has a good career great book.
